Location: Wellingborough, Northamptonshire

Contract: Full time, 40 hours per week , Monday to Friday

Salary: £29,641.01 to £34,946.27 depending on experience + call out + overtime

What will you be responsible for?

As Ganger you'll be working within our maintenance team, supporting them in leading a small team to carry out a range of tasks to ensure the effective maintenance of the highway network across North Northamptonshire.

Your day to day duties will include:

• Undertaking repair works to a variety of highways assets including tarmacadam repair to roads, footways, kerbs, soft estates, signs, posts, street furniture and ironworks.
• Safekeeping and operation of specialist equipment, making sure that equipment is properly maintained and all PUWER (Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998) records are completed correctly.
• Giving guidance and training to colleagues, working to Kier, Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards, ensuring the economic use of materials.
• Managing the works daily, ensuring the site is safe for our operatives and the public.
• Conducting point of work risk assessments to ensure that the work area is properly protected and safe-working procedures are being maintained.
• Utilising a mobile application to record photographs and site safety information.

What are we looking for?

This role of Ganger is great for you if you can:

• Lead teams successfully, work under pressure and deliver in a demanding environment.
• Hold an SMSTS/SSSTS or similar qualification.
• Hold a NRSWA Operative or similar qualification.
• Drive and hold a full UK driving licence.
