Caretaker
We're looking for a Mobile Caretaker to join our Meadowhead Secondary School team based in Sheffield.
Location: Meadowhead Secondary School, Sheffield
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.
As a Mobile Caretaker, you'll be ensuring the delivery of Facilities Management services to Meadowhead Secondary School, maintaining our high-quality standards and creating a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This is a hands-on role where you'll be an essential part of keeping the school running smoothly day to day.
What will you be responsible for?
As a Mobile Caretaker, you'll be working within the Facilities Management team, supporting them in maintaining the school building and grounds to the highest standards. Your day to day will include:
- Carrying out remedial tasks and planned maintenance including fire alarm activation, water temperature checks, and building inspections
- Providing hosting services and room set-ups for meetings and events
- Monitoring subcontractors and liaising with the Facilities Coordinator on ongoing work
- Moving furniture and equipment, and completing ad-hoc jobs as required
- Providing holiday and sickness cover for caretaking and cleaning staff, with on-call duties 1 week in 3
What are we looking for?
This role of Mobile Caretaker is great for you if:
- You have previous experience in caretaking or handy person duties and enjoy practical, hands-on work
- You're physically fit to perform lifting and handling tasks following manual handling training
- You can communicate effectively and provide excellent customer service every time
- You're confident reading and processing instructions, and updating information systems
