Kier Places are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, self-motivated and experienced Cleaner on a 9-month fixed term contract. The successful candidate will be based at Lichfield Fire Station completing 15 hours of cleaning per week, working closely with the Cleaning Supervisor to ensure continuity and quality of service. This is a wonderful opportunity to join a supportive team where your contribution makes a real difference to the working environment.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Cleaner, you'll be working within the Facilities Management team, supporting them in maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness and hygiene across the fire station. Your day to day will include:

  • Ensuring bathrooms, sinks, taps and sanitary areas are thoroughly cleaned and replenished with consumables such as hand wash, toilet rolls and hand towels
  • Emptying and disposing of waste correctly, maintaining waste receptacles and following proper waste segregation procedures
  • Following COSHH guidelines and health and safety regulations, including colour-coding systems to prevent cross contamination
  • Reporting any maintenance issues or pest concerns to your supervisor immediately and maintaining cleaning equipment to required standards

What are we looking for?

This role of Cleaner is great for you if:

  • You have previous cleaning experience, ideally within a school, office, fire station or commercial building environment
  • You have a solid understanding of health and safety at work, particularly COSHH regulations and safe use of cleaning equipment
  • You can work independently whilst being a collaborative team member who takes pride in delivering quality results
  • You're able to prioritise tasks effectively and maintain high personal hygiene and professional standards
  • You're reliable, trustworthy and committed to creating a clean, welcoming environment for all users of the building
