We're looking for a Commercial Manager to join our London Tunnels Maintenance team based at Blackwall Tunnel and Fore Street Depot, London. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the commercial management of one of London's most critical infrastructure networks, supporting the delivery of reactive maintenance, incident response, planned works, fault management and preventative maintenance activities. If you're a commercially focused professional with experience in highways, infrastructure or maintenance contracts, we'd love to hear from you.

Location: Blackwall Tunnel and Fore Street Depot, London – hybrid working available
Hours: Permanent Full Time, 40 hours per week. Flexible working options are available, just let us know what works for you when you speak with us.
We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Commercial Manager, you'll play a key role in maximising commercial performance and ensuring robust contract governance across London's tunnel and pumping station maintenance operations. Working closely with operational teams and clients, you'll help drive value, manage risk, and support the successful delivery of essential infrastructure services.

Your day to day will include:

  • Leading subcontract procurement, task orders, payment certification, change control and performance management
  • Pricing maintenance and infrastructure works, managing compensation events and identifying opportunities to increase contract value
  • Preparing monthly revenue applications, managing work in progress (WiP) and maximising recovery of contractual entitlement
  • Producing accurate month-end reporting, including CVRs, cost analysis and subcontract liabilities
  • Developing and managing annual budgets and forecasts, monitoring performance against turnover and margin targets
  • Identifying, managing and mitigating commercial and contractual risks
  • Partnering with the contract leadership team to support the successful delivery of maintenance and infrastructure services
  • Building strong client relationships and providing commercial insight through meetings, reports and presentations

What are we looking for?

This role of Commercial Manager is ideal if you bring:

  • Strong commercial management experience within highways, civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities or maintenance environments
  • Knowledge of tunnel infrastructure, including mechanical and electrical assets, or the ability to quickly develop expertise in this area
  • A solid understanding of the Highways Method of Measurement and experience pricing highways or infrastructure works
  • Proven experience delivering month-end processes, including CVRs, revenue recognition, forecasting, WiP and debt management
  • Strong subcontract management expertise, with working knowledge of NEC contracts, particularly NEC TSC
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Civil Engineering or a related discipline
