Location: Various Thames Water Treatment Sites - West Region
Hours: 45 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

We're seeking an Electrical/ICA Commissioning Engineer to join our Thames Water Major Projects team. In this role, you'll provide expert commissioning support for LV electrical systems, control and automation, and PLC and SCADA installations across industrial projects, with a particular focus on the water industry. As a strategic partner to Thames Water, Kier delivers design and build services for new and existing infrastructure across their supply and treatment regions. This is an excellent opportunity for a quality-focused engineer with a proven track record in commissioning electrical and ICA works on major projects.

What will you be responsible for?

As an Electrical/ICA Commissioning Engineer, you'll be working within the Thames Water Major Projects team, supporting them in delivering high-quality commissioning solutions for water treatment facilities. Your day to day will include:

  • Managing and completing commissioning documentation including FAT, SAT, outage management plans, and ITPs, ensuring compliance with quality and asset standards
  • Leading reliability and performance testing stages, conducting fault finding with the supply chain, and overseeing system configuration for MCC and ICA equipment
  • Working with LV electrical and ICA documentation, including electrical schematics, control philosophies, I/O schedules, and communications network architecture drawings
  • Representing Kier at client meetings, liaising with Thames Water commissioning representatives, and supporting the ongoing development of commissioning processes
  • Conducting technical reviews of electrical risk assessments and method statements, authorising inspection and test plans, and ensuring safe working practices across all activities

What are we looking for?

This role of Electrical/ICA Commissioning Engineer is great for you if:

  • You hold an HNC qualification in Electrical/Electronic or Instrumentation Engineering, or a similar discipline, with experience in ICA engineering, PLCs, HMIs, Profibus networks, and SCADA installations
  • You have a solid understanding of low voltage motor control centres, ICA sections, and various communication protocols including Profibus, Modbus, and Ethernet IP
  • You're familiar with SCADA software platforms, analytical instrumentation, and have knowledge of wastewater treatment processes and control systems
  • You possess strong problem-solving skills, excellent interpersonal abilities, and enjoy working collaboratively as part of a multi-discipline team
  • You hold a full driving licence and have knowledge of WIMES and UK water industry standards

We're all about finding potential here at Kier, and transferrable skills are always welcome! So, even if you don't tick every box, please apply and we can have a chat.
