Coordinator
We're looking for a Design Coordinator to join our Assured Delivery Team working on the URENCO scheme in Chester within the nuclear sector. Kier Design are a highly regarded Tier 1 Contractor, with a 750 plus strong design consultancy team, recognised as a Top 30 employer on Glassdoor.
Location: Chester
Hours: 37.5 hours per week - 2 days per week on site in Chester

Are you…
- Qualified with a Degree, HND, HNC or equivalent in Engineering, Construction, Architecture or a related discipline
- Experienced in design coordination on construction, infrastructure, energy, industrial or regulated-sector projects
- Skilled in coordinating technical interfaces and managing multidisciplinary information
- Knowledgeable about BIM processes, digital coordination and information management systems
- A strong communicator with excellent organisational and stakeholder engagement abilities
What will you be responsible for?
As a Design Coordinator, you'll be working within the team, supporting them in coordinating multidisciplinary design activities and ensuring effective integration across the project. Joining a major nuclear infrastructure development at Urenco's Capenhurst site in Chester. You'll be at the heart of coordinating multidisciplinary design activities across the Tails Management Facility (TMF) Kilns 3 & 4 Project, working collaboratively with integrated teams to deliver a coordinated, assured and construction-ready design. This role offers the chance to develop your coordination skills while contributing to a significant and meaningful project that supports the delivery of critical infrastructure.
Your day to day will include:
- Coordinating design activities across all project disciplines and organisations, ensuring information is aligned with project requirements and programme milestones
- Establishing and managing the Design Interface Register, monitoring interfaces between CSA, Process, Mechanical, Electrical and other disciplines
- Planning and chairing Design Coordination Meetings, capturing actions and tracking progress to ensure timely close-out
- Leading digital coordination activities using federated BIM models, including clash detection exercises and interdisciplinary design reviews
- Supporting progressive assurance reviews, design verification activities and compliance monitoring against technical standards and safety requirements
