Cost Manager

We're looking for a Senior Cost Manager / Cost Manager to join our KierBAM Joint Venture team based in Plymouth – Devonport Royal Dockyard.

Location: Plymouth – Devonport Royal Dockyard - remote working available, with occasional travel to the office required.
Hours: 45 hours per week

KierBAM is an exciting Joint Venture partnership between Kier and BAM Nuttall, currently delivering an important redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site in Plymouth. We're seeking an experienced and talented Senior Cost Manager / Cost Manager to join our dynamic team.

As a Cost Manager, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our project is delivered within budget whilst maintaining quality and meeting deadlines. You'll be working on a sensitive and prestigious site, making a real difference to a project of national importance.

Please note: Due to the sensitive nature of the site, BPSS security clearance is required. This process can take up to 8 weeks. Candidates must hold a passport from a NATO or MISWG member country and have resided in the UK for the past 5 years.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Senior Cost Manager / Cost Manager, you'll be working within the commercial team, supporting them in delivering financial excellence across the project. Your day to day will include:

• Preparing accurate cost forecasts and developing realistic budgets based on project scope
• Analysing cost data and generating clear financial reports for stakeholders
• Managing NEC4 contracts, defined costs, and change control processes
• Identifying, analysing, and mitigating cost-related risks throughout the project lifecycle
• Collaborating with clients, contractors, suppliers, and team members to ensure clarity and alignment on priorities

What are we looking for?

This role of Senior Cost Manager / Cost Manager is great for you if:

• You have strong knowledge of cost management and financial principles, with experience in budgeting and forecasting
• You possess excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail
• You have experience with NEC4 contracts and understanding of construction methods and resources
• You're skilled in Excel, including Pivot Tables, advanced functions (INDEX/MATCH, XLOOKUP), Power Query, and dashboard creation
• You have excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships
