Ecologist Graduate

We're looking for a Graduate Ecologist to join our Nature and Biodiversity team based out of one of our offices nationwide.

Location: Flexible on base location

Hours: 40 hours per week

Starting Salary: £31,000 per annum 

Pathway: Permanent, Full-time 2-year programme, leading to assistant level role upon completion with salary potential of CIRCA £38k  

Starting date: September 2027

• London - 30th November/1st December 2026
• Salford - 8th and 9th December 2026
• Birmingham - 13th and 14th January 2027

This role offers a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate to gain hands-on experience in ecology. You'll receive mentorship from experienced professionals and develop a strong foundation in your career. As a Graduate Ecologist, you'll be supporting our team with ecology surveys, designing mitigation strategies, overseeing licensed works, and promoting nature-based solutions across the business.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Graduate Ecologist, you'll be working within the Nature and Biodiversity team, supporting them in delivering ecological solutions and innovation across projects. Your day to day will include:

• Supporting ecological surveys, developing management plans and designing mitigation
• Contributing to the production of technical ecological documents
• Carrying out Ecological Clerk of Works duties, supervising contractors to ensure compliance
• Supporting client, stakeholder and technical meetings
• Promoting environmental principles and best practice throughout projects

What are we looking for?

We're looking for people due to graduate in 2027, or have recently graduated within the past three years, with a degree in Ecology. This role of Graduate Ecologist is great for you if you:

• Have a degree (or are working towards a degree) in ecology or a closely related discipline
• Demonstrate a genuine interest in pursuing a career in ecology and the construction industry
• Have strong analytical and critical thinking skills with excellent attention to detail
• Work effectively as part of a team, demonstrating collaboration and respect for others
• Hold a Full driving licence
