Electrical Project Manager

We're looking for an Electrical Project Manager to join our United Utilities Framework team based in North West of England

Location: Blackburn
Hours: 45 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the safe, compliant and commercially successful delivery of electrical, instrumentation, control and automation (EICA) works across the United Utilities AMP8 framework. You'll be accountable for electrical project delivery from design development and procurement through construction, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover across water, wastewater, network, pumping station, treatment and sludge/bioresource assets. Working collaboratively with United Utilities, project teams, designers and supply chain partners, you'll ensure right-first-time delivery against framework programme, cost, quality, safety, environmental, operational and customer requirements.

What will you be responsible for?

As an Electrical Project Manager, you'll be working within the United Utilities AMP8 Framework team, supporting them in delivering essential water infrastructure projects.

Your day to day will include:

  • Leading electrical and EICA work packages including LV distribution, MCCs, switchgear, transformers, standby generation, UPS systems, drives, cabling, instrumentation, telemetry and PLC/SCADA interfaces
  • Reviewing and accepting electrical design information, specifications, drawings, calculations and technical submissions, ensuring safety, buildability and compliance with United Utilities requirements
  • Managing procurement and subcontract packages, including scope development, tender evaluation, supplier performance and delivery assurance
  • Leading electrical shutdown, isolation, temporary supply, energisation and cut-over planning for live water and wastewater assets, ensuring operational continuity
  • Coordinating with commissioning teams to plan and execute electrical inspection, pre-commissioning, testing, energisation and performance demonstration activities

What are we looking for?

This role of Electrical Project Manager is great for you if:

  • You have demonstrable experience as an Electrical Project Manager, EICA Project Manager or similar role with accountability for delivering electrical works on capital projects
  • You have experience delivering capital projects in the UK water sector within an AMP framework, regulated utility or similarly controlled operational environment
  • You possess strong technical understanding of electrical and EICA systems, including LV distribution, MCCs, switchgear, transformers, generators, drives, cabling, instrumentation and control-system interfaces
  • You hold an HNC/HND, degree, apprenticeship or equivalent experience in electrical engineering or a related discipline
  • You have good understanding of CDM Regulations, risk assessment, method statements, permits, isolations and construction phase health and safety requirements
