Engineer
We're looking for a Multi Skilled Engineer to join our Cambridgeshire County Council Contract team based in Cambridgeshire.
Location: Cambridgeshire
Hours: 40 hours per week
We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.
As a Multi Skilled Engineer, you'll be undertaking routine and reactive maintenance tasks to meet required standards, ensuring adherence to our Compliance and Health and Safety procedures. Often the first point of contact to make-safe and complete first time fix/repair, you'll be responsible for ensuring continuous operational availability of our buildings. You'll work in close collaboration with the contract team to ensure safe, compliant and high-quality service delivery across multiple sites within the portfolio as operational needs require.
What will you be responsible for?
As a Multi Skilled Engineer, you'll be working within the Facilities Management team, supporting them in delivering safe, compliant and high-quality service across the Cambridgeshire County Council portfolio. Your day to day will include:
- Undertaking PPMs (Planned Preventative Maintenance) tasks and Legionella compliance tasks
- Diagnosing faults and undertaking repairs on a variety of building systems including HVAC, electrical installations, plumbing, doors, and general building fabric
- Carrying out minor carpentry, painting, plastering, tiling, flooring, and general fabric repairs
- Recording PPM results correctly on our CAFM system and reporting building maintenance issues through the Kier Helpdesk
- Inducting sub-contractors and liaising with the contract management team to ensure correct RAMS and permits to work are in place
What are we looking for?
This role of Multi Skilled Engineer is great for you if:
- You hold a full driving licence
- You have Electrical Qualifications – Level 3 in Electrical Installations such as C&G 236, Inspection and Testing C&G 2391-52, 18th Edition, C&G 2382
- You have demonstrable multi-skilled experience within mechanical and fabric maintenance
- You are fully conversant with the English language and have strong computer literacy skills including using tablets to update and complete work tasks
- You have excellent problem-solving skills and a willingness to take action to resolve issues, with the ability to work well under pressure and prioritise tasks effectively
