Estimator

We're looking for an Estimator to join our Southern Water Contract based in Crawley

 

Location: Estimator - remote working available, with occasional travel to the office required

Hours: 40 hours per week – some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us

 

We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

 

What will you be responsible for?

As an Estimator you'll be working within the Southern Water, supporting them in, the successful delivery of projects by producing accurate, competitive and commercially sound cost estimates. 

Your day to day will include:

  • Leading the preparation of sales tenders and quotations, ensuring all client and design specifications, drawings, and contractual requirements are accurately reflected
  • Assessing returned quotations from suppliers, negotiate as necessary, and ensure alignment with project specifications and commercial expectations
  • Attending pre-construction and construction site visits and meetings to understand project scope, risks, and logistical factors influencing cost estimates
  • Developing and manage a project risk register, organise risk meetings, and lead or support tender adjudication and presentation to senior management
  • Working closely with estimators, planners, design coordinators, and project teams to ensure consistency, value engineering, and smooth handover of successful tenders

 

What are we looking for?

This role of Estimator is great for you if you have:

  • Experience in the Water industry is required
  • Commercial and contractual awareness
  • HNC/HNC/Degree (Construction related) Engineering based qualification
  • Demonstration of knowledge and practical application of planning and construction activities
  • Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft packages, including Microsoft Excel
