General Foreman
We're looking for a General Foreperson to join our Severn Trent Framework
Location: Sheffield
Hours: 45 per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.
We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.
We're looking for a General Foreperson to oversee day-to-day construction operations related to the development and construction of water and wastewater treatment works. This is an exciting opportunity to ensure all work is performed safely, on schedule, and to the required specifications, whilst managing forepersons, supervisors, subcontractors, and resources on-site.
What will you be responsible for?
As a General Foreperson, you'll be working within the team, supporting them in delivering high-quality construction projects.
Your day to day will include:
- Supervising and coordinating the daily activities of supervisors, work teams, and subcontractors
- Interpreting project plans, construction programmes, drawings, and specifications to plan and delegate work assignments effectively
- Enforcing safety protocols and ensuring all personnel adhere to safety regulations and company policies
- Monitoring work to ensure it meets quality standards and specifications, conducting regular inspections
- Providing guidance and mentorship to operatives, creating a productive and positive work environment
What are we looking for?
This role of General Foreperson is great for you if:
- You have excellent negotiation, communication, and collaboration skills for liaising with workforce, contractors, and stakeholders
- You can motivate, guide, and mentor teams to achieve outputs
- You have strong problem-solving abilities to quickly assess project needs and provide solutions
- You can work under pressure with changing deadlines
- You hold a Full driving licence and are able to travel to various sites as required
