Graduate Hydraulic Modeller

We're looking for a Graduate Hydraulic Modeller to join our Kier Design team based in one of our design offices.

Location: Based out of either Bristol, Cardiff, Exeter, Norwich or Salford

Hours: 40 hours per week 

Starting Salary: £31,000 per annum 

Pathway: Permanent, Full-time 2-year programme, leading to assistant level role upon completion with salary potential of CIRCA £38k  

Starting date: September 2027

This is a truly exciting opportunity for an entrepreneurial individual to join our growing team and deliver some of the best water projects within a fully integrated design and build delivery model. As a Graduate Hydraulic Modeller, you'll assist in developing and reviewing options and designs for our water sector clients. You'll enrol on Kier's Graduate Development Programme and benefit from industry-leading technical training, rotations across different areas of the design business, a site secondment, and mentorship to support your professional qualification. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop a strong foundation in hydraulic modelling and water management.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Graduate Hydraulic Modeller, you'll be working within the Hydraulic Modelling team, supporting them in delivering innovative design solutions for water sector projects. Your day to day will include:

• Contributing to the design and checking of permanent and temporary design solutions
• Assisting with tender and bid-winning support, including outline design schemes and feasibility studies
• Supporting the development of alternative solutions and value engineering
• Conducting site visits, surveys and inspections
• Attending meetings with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to discuss project progress

What are we looking for?

We're looking for people due to graduate in 2027, or have recently graduated within the past three years, with a degree in Civil Engineering. This role of Graduate Hydraulic Modeller is great for you if you:

• Hold a degree (or are working towards a degree) which is ICE accredited in Civil Engineering, or a closely related discipline
• Demonstrate a genuine interest in pursuing a career in civil engineering and the construction industry, with clear motivation to learn and develop professionally
• Have analytical and critical thinking skills to assess situations and problem solve with strong attention to detail
• Work effectively as part of a team, demonstrating collaboration, reliability, and respect for others
• Hold a Full driving licence
