We're looking for a Handyperson to join our Ministry of Justice team based in East London & Essex.
Location: East London & Essex – remote working not applicable, this is a mobile role with travel across the London portfolio
Hours: 40 hours per week
We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.
What will you be responsible for?
As a Handyperson, you'll be working within the Ministry of Justice team, supporting them in delivering Facilities Management Hard & Technical Services across the National Probation Service Estate.
Your day to day will include:
- Carrying out general maintenance such as fixing carpeting, hanging items, patching paintwork, minor plumbing and joinery repairs
- Responding to reactive maintenance calls and completing planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Supporting site inspections, updating records, and ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures
- Assisting other team members and maintaining effective communication with clients and stakeholders
- Ensuring the presentation and functionality of buildings meet required standards
What are we looking for?
This role of Handyperson is great for you if:
- You have previous experience in a general maintenance role, ideally within Building Services, FM or Property Maintenance
- You hold relevant industry qualifications, including CSCS card and certifications such as Working at Height/IPAF/PASMA
- You have strong communication skills, a proactive attitude, and a good level of computer literacy
- You hold a Full UK driving licence and are willing to participate in a callout rota (1 week in 4)
