Highways Maintenance Operative - AaA
We're looking for an Attend and Assess Highways Maintenance Operative to join our team based in Fareham.
Location: Fareham - Park Gate, PO15 6SA
Hours: 4 on 4 off (12 hour shifts), days and nights
Salary: From £13.45 per hour + overtime
We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.
This is an exciting opportunity to become the single point of contact for network operations, working in and out of hours to ensure the safe deployment of operatives. You'll be responding to incidents and emergency works, liaising with emergency services, and playing a vital role in maintaining the efficient delivery of operational requirements across a designated area of the network.
What will you be responsible for?
As an Attend and Assess Operative, you'll be working within the team, supporting them in maintaining efficient and timely delivery of operational requirements. Your day to day will include:
- Responding to incidents and emergency works within KPI timescales, liaising with emergency services and network teams to clear scenes quickly
- Acting as the single point of contact for the safe deployment of operatives working on the network
- Completing accident and incident reports, obtaining on-scene details and relevant information for third-party claims
- Carrying out daily checks of labour, plant and materials to ensure efficient utilisation
- Delivering routine maintenance tasks and supporting severe weather operations as required
What are we looking for?
This role of Attend and Assess Operative is great for you if:
- You're capable of working under pressure in a safety critical environment
- You have strong communication and interpersonal skills with a self-motivated approach
- You're able to work effectively as part of a team whilst also working with minimal supervision
- You hold a Full driving licence
- You're comfortable working on a 4-on 4-off 12-hour day/night shift system including weekends and bank holidays
