Hydraulic Modelling Lead
We're looking for a Hydraulic Modelling Lead to join our Water Engineering team based in Flexible with UK travel.
Location: Flexible with UK travel
Hours: 37.5 per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

Kier Design is seeking a Hydraulic Modelling Lead to join our exciting new Water Engineering division. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape and grow a team whilst delivering design excellence across clean and wastewater projects within our integrated design and build delivery model. You'll be working closely with our construction teams and water company clients across the UK, bringing your technical expertise and leadership to drive innovation and quality in hydraulic modelling.
What will you be responsible for?
As a Hydraulic Modelling Lead, you'll be working within the Water Engineering team, supporting them in delivering design excellence across water projects. Your day to day will include:
- Leading the delivery of hydraulic modelling activities ensuring design excellence and client satisfaction
- Shaping and implementing a hydraulic modelling growth plan in coordination with the Head of Water
- Providing technical leadership and participating in bid teams to bring value to our clients
- Liaising with water companies and internal construction teams to provide technical excellence
- Identifying innovation opportunities and coordinating with in-house design capability leaders to ensure effective resourcing
What are we looking for?
This role of Hydraulic Modelling Lead is great for you if:
- You have significant experience in the regulated water sector with a solid network of relationships within water client and design organisations
- You bring extensive expertise using modelling packages to answer design and optioneering challenges in both clean and wastewater projects
- You're Chartered (CEng) with a relevant professional body and hold a degree in an appropriate discipline
- You have a passion for growing high performing teams and experience working within a design and build environment
- You have excellent communication skills with a collaborative, customer-focused approach and open leadership style
