Industrial Placement - Quantity Surveyor 2027

We're looking for an Industrial Placement MEP Quantity Surveyor to join our Kier Mechanical & Electrical team based around the Leeds region.

Location: Leeds
Hours: 40 hours per week
Salary: £27,976 pro rata
Start: September 2027

This is an exciting opportunity for a degree student seeking a placement year to gain valuable hands-on experience and begin building a successful career in MEP quantity surveying.
You will assist in managing the contractual and financial aspects of MEP projects while receiving mentorship from experienced professionals, helping you build a strong foundation in this rewarding field. Kier Mechanical & Electrical supports internal regional businesses across the UK on complex and challenging projects within sectors including Custodial, Commercial, Health & Science.

What will you be responsible for?

As an Industrial Placement MEP Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working within the Kier Mechanical & Electrical team, supporting them in delivering MEP projects.

Your day to day will include:

• Assisting in preparing and managing project budgets, cost plans, and cost estimates
• Supporting the measurement and interim valuation of work done on-site, ensuring timely and accurate billing
• Helping prepare and submit tenders and contract documents
• Conducting site visits and inspections to monitor progress and ensure work is carried out safely and to specifications
• Collaborating with the project team to prepare progress reports and financial statements

• You hold a full UK driving licence
