We're looking for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join our team.

Location: Remote working available, with occasional travel to the office required.
Hours: Full-time - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

As a Managing Quantity Surveyor, you'll take ownership of the commercial management of significant construction projects from preconstruction through to final account. This is an opportunity to shape strategy, drive profitability, and ensure robust cost control whilst working collaboratively with a supportive team. You'll play a key role in delivering successful outcomes, managing relationships, and developing others along the way.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Managing Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working within the commercial team, supporting them in delivering efficient procurement, accurate forecasting, and strong project performance. Your day to day will include:

  • Managing cost and value reconciliation, and overseeing financial reporting across projects
  • Administering contracts and ensuring compliance with all contractual obligations
  • Leading the preparation and negotiation of variations, compensation events, and claims
  • Managing subcontractor accounts, payments, and final accounts
  • Mentoring and developing Quantity Surveyors and trainees within the team

What are we looking for?

This role of Managing Quantity Surveyor is great for you if:

  • You hold a degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field
  • You have experience managing commercial aspects of construction projects
  • You're confident with contract administration (NEC, JCT, PPC 2000 or similar)
  • You're comfortable leading, mentoring, and developing others
  • You're working towards or hold membership of RICS or CIOB (desirable)

We're all about finding potential here at Kier, and transferrable skills are always welcome! So, even if you don't tick every box, please apply and we can have a chat.
