We're looking for a Masonery Operative to join our South West Water team based in Gallows Gate.

Location: Gallows Gate
Hours: 45 hours per week

We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

As a Masonery Operative, you'll play a key role in our Natural Resources, Nuclear & Networks team, supporting essential infrastructure projects across the South West Water contract. You'll be responsible for high-quality masonry and brickwork repairs, as well as highway reinstatement following excavation works for water mains repairs, new connections, and other utilities projects. This is a hands-on role where your skills will help restore surfaces to the highest standards, ensuring compliance with safety and quality requirements.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Mason, you'll be working within the Natural Resources, Nuclear & Networks team, supporting them in delivering essential water infrastructure projects. Your day to day will include:

  • Undertaking mason and brickwork repairs, including reinstating brick paving, kerbs, edging, and minor masonry finishes
  • Carrying out high-quality reinstatement works including tarmac, concrete, and modular paving following excavation
  • Ensuring reinstatement meets HAUC and local authority specifications
  • Operating plant and machinery safely such as rollers and compactors
  • Completing job documentation using tablet-based systems and maintaining site safety compliance

What are we looking for?

This role of Mason is great for you if you have:

  • Previous experience in highway reinstatement or utilities reinstatement (desired but not essential)
  • A Full driving licence
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver quality results
  • A CSCS card, EUSR Water Hygiene, or NRSWA certification (training can be provided)
  • You enjoy working collaboratively with teams to meet deadlines and deliver excellent outcomes
