We're looking for an MEP Technical Support to join our Rail team based nationwide. Kier Rail is involved in some of the UK's most important rail infrastructure programmes, delivering everything from major station upgrades and accessibility schemes through to renewals and enhancement projects. With a growing pipeline of long-term work, multidisciplinary expertise and real opportunities for career progression, it's a fantastic place for people who want to make a tangible impact on the future of the UK's rail network.

Location: Nationwide
Hours: 42 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

What will you be responsible for?

As an MEP Technical Support, you'll be working within the Rail team, supporting them in delivering high-quality M&E installations. This is an exciting opportunity to oversee the quality, safety, and compliance of mechanical and electrical installations on construction projects. As the client's on-site representative, you'll ensure that works are carried out to the required standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements, playing a vital role in delivering successful outcomes.

Your day to day will include:

  • Monitoring and inspecting M&E/E&P and SISS installations to ensure compliance with project drawings, specifications, and industry standards
  • Conducting routine and ad hoc inspections, ensuring adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Maintaining detailed site records, including inspection reports, site instructions, and progress photos
  • Overseeing, witnessing and verifying testing and commissioning activities to ensure system performance meets design intent
  • Acting as the link between the Construction Responsible Engineer and subcontractors to ensure smooth coordination

What are we looking for?

This role of MEP Technical Support is great for you if:

  • You hold a technical qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
  • Have extensive experience in M&E building services/E&P installation, inspection, testing and commissioning
  • Possess strong knowledge of relevant building regulations, standards, and health & safety requirements
  • Hold a relevant Testing and Commissioning Qualification (C&G 2391 or similar) and CSCS card or equivalent site safety certification

We're all about finding potential here at Kier, and transferrable skills are always welcome! So, even if you don't tick every box, please apply and we can have a chat.
