Hours: 37.5 per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

Due to the exciting and rapid expansion of our internal environmental consultancy, we are seeking a Nature & Biodiversity Lead to join our team. This is an opportunity to shape the strategic growth of our ecology, landscape, nature-based solutions and ecosystem services capabilities. You'll lead the team, acting as a focal point for technical advice and overseeing a range of complex and exciting projects across the UK.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Nature & Biodiversity Lead, you'll be working within the Design Environment & Sustainability team, supporting them in delivering nature and biodiversity services. Due to the exciting and rapid expansion of our internal environmental consultancy, we are seeking a Nature & Biodiversity Lead to join our team. This is an opportunity to shape the strategic growth of our ecology, landscape, nature-based solutions and ecosystem services capabilities. You'll lead the team, acting as a focal point for technical advice and overseeing a range of complex and exciting projects across the UK.

Your day to day will include:

• Leading the delivery of nature and biodiversity services across road, rail, water and property sectors
• Growing and developing our nature-based solutions, ecosystem services and climate resilience capability
• Managing, mentoring and supporting our national team of ecologists
• Providing technical advice and innovative solutions to complex ecological challenges throughout project lifecycles
• Working collaboratively with designers, clients and supply chain partners to achieve shared goals

What are we looking for?

This role of Nature & Biodiversity Lead is great for you if:

• You hold a degree in a relevant subject and are a Chartered Ecologist / Environmentalist with full membership of CIEEM / ISEP or equivalent
• You have experience leading and mentoring teams of ecologists and technical specialists
• You bring breadth of experience leading on technical matters on large and complex projects
• You have a robust understanding of UK environmental legislation, policy drivers and standards
• You possess strong presentation, report writing and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly
