Planning Manager

As a Planning Manager within Kier Strategic Projects, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful delivery of complex projects across a diverse portfolio.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative and forward-thinking team on a major project in the Life Sciences sector in Warwick.

What will you be responsible for?

  • Lead the planning function on major construction projects from tender through to completion.
  • Develop detailed construction programmes using industry-standard software, Asta Power Project.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and commercial teams to ensure programme accuracy and feasibility.
  • Monitor progress against baseline programmes and provide regular updates and reports.
  • Identify and manage project risks and opportunities through effective planning strategies.
  • Support bid teams with planning input for tenders and proposals.
  • Ensure compliance with Kier's planning standards and procedures.

What are we looking for?

  • Proven experience in a senior level planning role within the construction industry.
  • Strong working knowledge of planning software (Asta Powerproject).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Relevant qualifications in construction or engineering (HNC/HND/Degree level preferred).
  • Ability to coach, mentor and recruit more junior planners
