We're looking for a Public Liaison Officer to join our Bridgwater Tidal Barrier team based in Bridgwater, Somerset.

 

Location: Bridgwater, Somerset 


Hours: 40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

 

We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

 

As a Public Liaison Officer, you'll play a vital role in raising the profile of this exciting infrastructure project. Working closely with the Stakeholder Manager, you'll help create meaningful connections with the community and stakeholders, ensuring everyone stays informed and engaged throughout the project's journey. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a real difference, using your communication skills to bring people together and support the delivery of this important initiative.

 

What will you be responsible for?

 

As a Public Liaison Officer, you'll be working within the Bridgwater Tidal Barrier team, supporting them in engaging stakeholders and the wider community.

 

Your day to day will include:

 

  • Creating engaging content for social media, newsletters, and communications to keep stakeholders and the community informed
  • Supporting the client of stakeholder and public events, ensuring they run smoothly and successfully
  • Collaborating with team members to translate technical information into clear, accessible content for different audiences
  • Maintaining accurate records of all consultation activities and communications with the public and stakeholders
  • Contributing to community engagement initiatives and identifying opportunities for positive social impact

 

What are we looking for?

 

This role of Public Liaison Officer is great for you if you hold:

 

  • Relevant experience in a similar role such as communications, stakeholder liaison, marketing, or business development
  • Experience in collating information and developing newsletters, social media content, articales and other internal/ external content
  • Strong people skills and the ability to form productive relationships with colleagues at all levels across the business
