Quantity Surveyor
We're looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join our Fire Remediation team based in Isle of Dogs.
Location: Isle of Dogs
Hours: 40 hours per week
We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.
Join our Kier Places team working on an exciting Fire Remediation project in the Isle of Dogs. This role forms part of our 15-year partnership with L&Q, focusing on external wall remediation works across numerous blocks as part of the Major Works Improvement Programme. You'll play a key role in managing commercial resources and supporting the delivery of safe, high-quality outcomes for residents.
What will you be responsible for?
As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working within the Commercial team, supporting them in maximising planned gross margin and ensuring strong financial performance. Your day to day will include:
- Managing commercial resources to achieve budgeted profitability on projects
- Appointing subcontractors and placing orders for materials and plant within delegated authorities
- Measuring and valuing work to support invoicing customers and paying suppliers
- Proposing and negotiating contract variations with customers and suppliers
- Building strong relationships with clients, contractors and the supply chain to support successful project delivery
What are we looking for?
This role of Quantity Surveyor is great for you if:
- You have clear communication skills and experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, clients and the supply chain
- You bring experience in a similar role, ideally with exposure to Building Safety Regulation works
- You're organised, can prioritise effectively and work well to deadlines
- You hold relevant qualifications such as a Degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying
- You're confident using IT packages including Microsoft Office and bespoke software systems
