We're looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join our Construction team based in Stansted, Essex.

Location: Stansted, Essex
Hours: Full-time - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Construction team, where you'll play a vital role in managing the commercial aspects of our projects. Working on significant regional building projects, you'll help maximise profitability whilst building strong relationships with clients, contractors and suppliers. You'll be part of a supportive team that values collaboration and diverse perspectives, contributing to projects that make a real difference in sectors including education, health, and aviation.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working within the Construction team, supporting them in delivering commercial excellence across our projects. Your day to day will include:

  • Managing commercial resources to maximise planned gross margin on assigned projects
  • Appointing contractors and subcontractors, and placing orders for materials and plant
  • Measuring and valuing work to support invoicing of customers and payment to suppliers
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, contractors and the wider supply chain
  • Identifying contractual and commercial risks and proposing ways to mitigate them

What are we looking for?

This role of Quantity Surveyor is great for you if:

  • You have clear communication skills and experience working with multidisciplinary teams, clients and supply chains
  • You have demonstrable experience in a similar role
  • You have strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
  • You're confident using a range of IT packages including Microsoft Office
