Senior Bid Manager
We're looking for a Senior Bid Manager to join our Infrastructure team based in Salford, Waterbeach and other Infrastructure hubs.
Location: Salford, Waterbeach, and other Infrastructure hubs nationwide - remote working available, with occasional travel to the office required.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

What will you be responsible for?
As a Senior Bid Manager, you'll be working within the Infrastructure team, supporting them in winning sustainable, profitable infrastructure work aligned with the business strategy. You'll play a pivotal role in leading the development and delivery of large, complex infrastructure tenders. This position spans both Highways Term Maintenance and a broader range of infrastructure projects, including major highways schemes, structures, intelligent transport systems, public realm, utilities, and multi-disciplinary civil engineering works for public and regulated-sector clients. You'll be responsible for the full bid lifecycle, from early market engagement through to contract award and handover to delivery teams.
Your day to day will include:
- Independently leading major infrastructure bids, acting as the single point of accountability from opportunity qualification through to contract award and handover
- Developing and owning clear bid strategies and win themes tailored to client priorities, including safety, customer outcomes, network performance, and social value
- Assembling, leading and motivating multi-disciplinary bid teams including estimators, planners, designers, commercial managers, and operational leads
- Working closely with the Proposals Director to deliver high-quality, compliant and compelling submissions aligned to the agreed win strategy
- Managing client relationships throughout the procurement process and leading post-tender clarifications through to preferred bidder activity
What are we looking for?
This role of Senior Bid Manager is great for you if:
- You have proven experience leading major bids within a Tier 1 contractor or equivalent environment
- Possess a strong understanding of infrastructure procurement models, including highways term maintenance, frameworks and project-based delivery
- Can demonstrate working knowledge of NEC forms of contract, public-sector procurement processes and strong commercial awareness /understanding of risk, programme and cost drivers
- Embody excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior internal and client levels
