Job Title: Senior Building Surveyor

Location: Lincolnshire

Salary: Starting from £45,000 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours per week – some flexibly, just ask us

About the Role

 

A Senior Building Surveyor will deliver high‑quality Building Surveying services to internal and external clients across the public and private sectors, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, Kier's HSE standards, QA processes and industry best practice. The role covers the full scope of surveying activities, including building surveys, feasibility studies, design and specification of works, contract administration and project management, while also supporting procurement and successful project delivery. The postholder will work collaboratively with clients and colleagues, mentor junior team members, contribute to business development and work‑winning activity and represent Kier professionally in meetings/workshops and on sites nationwide.

 

Key Requirements

 

  • Ideally a Degree in Building Surveying, or related field, but HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Building Surveying, or a related discipline, as a minimum
  • Chartered membership of RICS (Building Surveying pathway) or CIOB

 

Main Responsibilities

 

  • Deliver Building Surveying services to internal and external clients in line with:
  • Statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Kier and client HSE requirements
  • Kier Information Management System (Kier's QA system) and industry best practice
  • Undertake surveys of existing buildings and provide clear, professional reports on condition, defects, maintenance, improvement and development potential
  • Advise clients on building condition, HSE, Planning, Building Regulations and other relevant compliance matters
  • Prepare feasibility and options studies with practical recommendations
  • Design, specify and deliver maintenance, repair, refurbishment, alteration, extension or demolition works
  • Support procurement and administer contracts on behalf of clients
  • Project manage Building Surveying commissions, ensuring high-quality delivery and client satisfaction
  • Attend meetings, workshops and sites across the UK as required
  • Support business development through:
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Identifying new work opportunities
  • Contributing to fee proposals, tenders and framework bids
  • Securing and reviewing client feedback
