Senior Design Manager
We're looking for a Senior Design Manager to join our Yorkshire Water Framework team based in Leeds, West Yorkshire.
Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire – office-based with travel to sites as required within the Yorkshire Water region
Hours: 45 hours per week – standard working hours with flexibility available if needed
Contract: Permanent, Full Time
What will you be responsible for?
As a Senior Design Manager, you'll be part of our AMP8 Core Team, leading and managing the design interfaces for the delivery of major water treatment schemes. This is a key role within Kier's Natural Resources, Nuclear & Networks business, working on innovative, sustainable solutions for Yorkshire Water.
What will your day to day look like?
Your day-to-day will include:
- Leading the design coordination for a range of upgrades and new treatment works, ensuring seamless collaboration between civil, MEICA, and process disciplines
- Managing outline and detailed design phases, supporting estimating, Early Contractor Involvement (ECI), and tender activities
- Ensuring regulatory compliance and Principal Designer duties are met and documented
- Overseeing the integration of innovative solutions, including ozone disinfection and reduced-carbon wetland processes, into project designs
- Supporting construction delivery teams to ensure designs are buildable, programme-aligned, and meet quality expectations
What are we looking for?
This role of Senior Design Manager is great for you if:
- You have extensive experience in managing complex design interfaces within the water or infrastructure sectors, with a strong understanding of civil, MEICA, and process design
- You're experienced in ECI, tender design, and leading multi-disciplinary design packages
- You're a confident communicator who can collaborate across teams, deliver to programme, and ensure high standards of technical quality and compliance
