Senior Environmental Specialist

We're excited to be expanding our team and are looking for a Senior Environmental Specialist  to come on board. Location: Nationwide – travel to sites and offices required with remote working available

Hours: 37.5 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us

Salary: £48,000 per annum plus £5,900 car allowance and benefits

What will you be responsible for?

As a Senior Environmental Specialist, you'll be working within the Environmental team, supporting them in acting as a focal point for environmental advice and leading on environmental impact assessments, permits, licences and consent applications along with overall project sustainability performance.

Your day to day will include:

• Supporting the delivery of environmental consultancy services across a range of sectors including road, rail, water and property, leading on environmental impact assessments for projects, identifying key environmental risks, proposing mitigation strategies and developing management plans
• Obtaining all relevant environmental permits, licences and consents in a timely manner, working closely with designers in minimising environmental impacts and maximising environmental benefits
• Promoting decarbonisation, climate resilience, nature-based solutions and innovation across the business, authoring and reviewing technical environmental documents
• Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team, representing the team in client, stakeholder and technical meetings
• Input into bids and fee proposals, continuous improvement of environmental processes, procedures and related forms

What are we looking for?

This role of Senior Environmental Specialist is great for you if:

• You hold an environmental / sustainability degree and a practitioner member of IEMA (or equivalent) and working towards CEnv
• Hold a robust understanding of UK environmental legislation and policy, demonstrable experience undertaking environmental assessment for infrastructure or building projects, a good understanding of a breadth of environmental issues such as waste and materials management, water environment, air quality, noise, heritage, landscape and ecology, or a specialist in one of these topics
• Relevant level of knowledge of engineering / construction requirements and methodologies
