Senior Estimator

We're looking for a Senior Estimator to join our Kier Places team based in Basingstoke.

Location: Basingstoke (with requirements to attend other Kier offices and client sites)
Hours: Full-time - 40 hours per week

Kier Places is recruiting an experienced Senior Estimator to join our passionate bid team. With our diverse portfolio of contracts, we're looking for a Senior Estimator with a Facilities Management bias and a strong commercial track record of success. The role encompasses the pricing of PPM, reactive maintenance, and soft services for the Kier Places FM portfolio, focussing on long-term, multi-million-pound contracts. The Senior Estimator will be responsible for managing the estimating team.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Senior Estimator, you'll be working within the bid team, supporting them in preparing and winning tenders with new and existing clients. Your day to day will include:

• Leading and developing the team of estimators, overseeing tender preparation and managing relationships with clients and internal teams
• Taking ownership for pricing larger, strategic bids and ensuring all estimating work is accurate before tender settlements
• Ensuring all bid models are fit for purpose, logical, and regularly updated with the latest information
• Providing full handovers to the operations team post-bid and mobilisation support to ensure assumptions are met
• Promoting wellbeing and fostering an inclusive workplace where diversity of thought, backgrounds, and experience is actively encouraged

What are we looking for?

This role of Senior Estimator is great for you if:

• You have significant estimating experience, ideally within FM, construction, infrastructure or complex services, with a proven track record pricing large, complex, multi-year bids
• You possess strong commercial acumen with the ability to shape pricing strategy, assess margin requirements and support overall bid competitiveness
• You have advanced Excel and modelling skills, with the ability to build, test and present complex pricing models
• You have knowledge of SFG20, HTMs and FM pricing methodologies, with understanding of Hard FM, Soft FM and Total FM service models
• You're confident in challenging inputs to ensure estimates are robust, realistic and aligned to the agreed commercial position
