Senior Estimator
We're looking for a Senior Estimator to join our Construction team based in Essex
Location: Witham, Essex
Join our Construction team and play a key role in supporting the development of successful, profitable tenders. As a Senior Estimator, you'll work collaboratively within a supportive environment, contributing to major regional projects whilst building strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and consultants. This is an excellent opportunity to use your expertise in cost estimation and tender preparation whilst developing your leadership skills within a forward-thinking organisation.
What will you be responsible for?
As a Senior Estimator, you'll be working within the Construction team, supporting them in delivering profitable tenders and maximising our market share. Your day to day will include:
- Preparing and estimating costs for tenders, identifying opportunities to minimise risk and maximise profit
- Leading and mentoring the estimating team, promoting best practice and collaborative working
- Negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing whilst maintaining quality standards
- Collaborating with design, planning, commercial, and bid management teams throughout the tender process
- Supporting the handover of projects to delivery teams, ensuring smooth transition and clear communication
What are we looking for?
This role of Senior Estimator is great for you if:
- You have experience working with a Main Contractor or Tier 1 Contractor company
- You're proficient in Excel, estimating software, and take-off tools such as Blue Beam
- You can demonstrate leadership experience within a pre-construction team
- You have supported and developed junior team members, helping them to grow their skills
- You bring a conscientious, detail-oriented approach to your work and enjoy problem-solving
