Senior Quantity Surveyor

We're looking for a Commercial Lead (SQS Level) to join our Workplace Solutions PFI team based in North/Midlands.

Location: Salford, Greater Manchester (hybrid working available)
Hours: 40 hours per week

We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

Kier Places are recruiting for a Commercial Lead (SQS Level) to support our Workplace Solutions PFI contracts across the North West and Midlands region. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you'll provide practical commercial support to the Regional Manager, Contract Managers and contract teams, with a strong focus on business-as-usual performance, payment mechanism reporting and contractual compliance. Working autonomously and collaboratively with finance, lifecycle and operations, you'll help protect Kier's commercial position while developing effective relationships with SPVs, Authorities and clients.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Commercial Lead (SQS Level), you'll be working within the Workplace Solutions PFI team, supporting them in delivering commercial excellence across contracts. Your day to day will include:

  • Managing payment mechanism reporting, deductions, relief events and contractual adjustments including annual reconciliations
  • Providing commercial support for business-as-usual FM delivery, protecting contractual entitlement and supporting debt recovery
  • Managing contract change and variations from instruction and quotation through to agreement and recovery
  • Supporting budgets, forecasts, accruals, cost control and monthly commercial reporting with finance and contract teams
  • Building effective working relationships with SPVs, Authorities, clients and operational stakeholders

What are we looking for?

This role of Commercial Lead (SQS Level) is great for you if:

  • You have essential experience in PFI and FM, with practical knowledge of payment mechanisms, deductions, relief events and contract change
  • You have demonstrable experience operating across multiple operational contracts in a similar commercial role
  • You bring strong commercial acumen, including value for money, budgeting, forecasting, cost control, cash, debt and monthly reporting
  • You can provide clear commercial advice, support disputes and operate autonomously across competing priorities
  • You have strong collaborative-working and stakeholder-management skills across finance, lifecycle, operations, SPVs, Authorities and clients
