Senior Quantity Surveyor
We're looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Kier Places – Building Solutions team based in Sheffield.
Location: Sheffield
Hours: 08:30 – 17:00 Monday to Friday
We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a vital role in managing the commercial aspects of our projects, working collaboratively with our teams to deliver high-quality building solutions. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse refurbishment and building safety projects, typically ranging from £5m to £15m, where your expertise will help maximise project value whilst supporting excellent client relationships.
What will you be responsible for?
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working within the Building Solutions team, supporting them in delivering projects safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. Your day to day will include:
- Managing commercial resources and maximising project margins through careful contract placement and control
- Tendering, evaluating, and appointing subcontractors, consultants, and placing orders for materials and plant
- Identifying, negotiating, and agreeing project variations with customers and suppliers
- Measuring, valuing, and agreeing work progress to support invoicing and payment processes
- Building and maintaining collaborative relationships with clients, consultants, and the supply chain
What are we looking for?
This role of Senior Quantity Surveyor is great for you if:
- You have clear communication skills and experience working effectively with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and supply chain partners
- You hold relevant qualifications (Degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying is desirable) and have experience in a similar role
- You're organised, able to prioritise effectively, and comfortable working to deadlines
- You're flexible, able to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- You're confident using IT packages including Microsoft Office and are willing to embrace ongoing training and development
