Site Engineer
We're looking for a Site Engineer to join our KierBAM Joint Venture team based in Plymouth – Devonport Royal Dockyard.
Location: Plymouth – Devonport Royal Dockyard
Hours: 45 hours per week – some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.
We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.
Due to the sensitive nature of the site, BPSS security clearance is required. Please note that this process can take up to 8 weeks.
Eligibility criteria: Candidates must hold a passport from a NATO or MISWG member country and have resided in the UK for the past 5 years.
KierBAM is a Joint Venture partnership between Kier and BAM Nuttall. We're currently delivering an exciting redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site in Plymouth. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our collaborative team and contribute to a project of national importance. As a Site Engineer, you'll play a key role in ensuring the technical compliance of our project, delivering work safely, on time, and to exceptional quality standards.
What will you be responsible for?
As a Site Engineer, you'll be working within the engineering team, supporting them in managing the technical delivery of this significant infrastructure project. Your day-to-day will include:
- Setting out works to precise specifications and ensuring all construction meets required tolerances and quality standards
- Supporting quality assurance processes, including preparing as-built drawings, conducting inspections, and maintaining comprehensive project records
- Collaborating with the team to overcome technical challenges and providing engineering support to ensure smooth project delivery
- Assisting with site safety, environmental, and quality inspections to maintain our high standards
- Recording and testing workmanship and materials, including drainage, concrete, and structural elements
What are we looking for?
This role of Site Engineer is great for you if:
- You have experience with reinforced concrete structures and system formwork, along with proficiency in Leica survey equipment
- You hold or are working towards a relevant degree qualification in civil engineering (or equivalent) and may be progressing towards chartership
- You're comfortable with quality management systems and writing risk assessments and method statements
- You have strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- You hold relevant certifications such as CSCS White AQP card and Supervisor HSE test, with flexibility to work occasional weekends when required
