Surveyor

We're looking for a Surveyor to join our Anglian Water Alliance team based in either Ipswich or Norwich.

Location: Sproughton WTW or Heigham WTW
Hours: Monday to Friday, 45 hours per week

We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

Working within the IMRDS (Integrated Maintenance, Repair & Development Services) team, you'll play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of small works projects across the operational water network. This role focuses on Air Valve installations, Proactive Network Fittings, asset verification activities and network improvement schemes throughout the Anglian Water region. You'll be responsible for carrying out site surveys and investigations to support planning, design and construction activities, ensuring accurate asset information is captured and communicated effectively. This is an opportunity to take ownership of the Small Works programme from a surveying perspective, supporting schemes from initial identification through to completion and close-out.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Surveyor, you'll be working within the IMRDS team, supporting them in delivering network improvement schemes. Your day to day will include:

  • Carrying out site surveys and investigations for Air Valve installations, Proactive Network Fittings and other small works schemes
  • Assessing existing asset conditions, identifying defects and improvement opportunities, and validating asset locations and network records
  • Inspecting, cleaning and verifying network assets to confirm correct functionality before handover to Operations
  • Collecting accurate site measurements, photographs and asset data, and producing survey records using approved systems
  • Supporting scheme delivery and close-out by providing clear site information to Engineers, Delivery Teams and operational stakeholders

What are we looking for?

This role of Surveyor is great for you if you have:

  • Previous experience within the water industry, utilities, construction, highways or a similar field-based environment
  • Experience interpreting utility drawings and asset records, and have knowledge of Street Works requirements and safe excavation practices
  • Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and priorities
  • A Full driving licence
  • A strong focus on Health, Safety and Quality compliance and can work independently to make informed decisions in the field
