Appointed Person
We're looking for an Appointed Person to join the dynamic team at our Severn Trent framework at our site in Wanlip, Leicestershire.
Location: Wanlip, Leicestershire
Hours: 45 Hours per week - Permanent Contract
We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.
What will you be responsible for?
As an Appointed Person, you'll be working within the dynamic team at our site in Wanlip, as part of our Severn Trent framework to manage lifting operations sitewide and work alongside our lifting team and delivery team to ensure the safe lifting in all areas in line with delivery requirements.
What will your day to day look like?
Your day to day will include:
- Fulfil the role of Appointed Person (Lifting Operations) as defined in BS7121
- Ensure that each lifting operation, or series of similiar operations is assessed to provide such planning, selection of lifting applications and accessories, instruction, and supervision as is necessary for the task to be undertaken safely.
- Ensure that all cranes, lifting appliances and accessories have been tested, thoroughly examined, and inspected in accordance with staturory requirements and that the relevant reports, certificate and register are up to date and available to site.
- Ensure there is an effective procedure for reporting defects and incidents, taking corrective actions as necessary.
- Make sure lift operations do not conflict with the safety of any other actions on site.
What are we looking for?
This role of Appointed Person is great for you if you have:
- CPCS Appointed person (lifting operations)
- Specific Working Knowledge of the construction techniques
- Ability to keep clear and accurate records and reports
- Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card and SMSTS
