Kier Design has recently entered the top 25 of Building Consultancy companies in the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious and growing team engaged across a wide range of sectors. You'll be working with and assisting in the leadership of a design team, producing high quality design work and comprehensive, co-ordinated detailed drawings and specifications. This role offers the chance to make a real impact whilst working on substantial and complex projects across various sectors including education, defence, and conservation architecture.

What will you be responsible for?

As an Architect, you'll be working within the Kier Design team, supporting them in delivering technical excellence in design. Your day to day will include:

  • Leading on substantial and complex projects, managing and co-ordinating team members to ensure effective delivery of work programmes
  • Participating in the detailed design process, preparing and presenting concept and detailed drawings whilst ensuring quality and co-ordination
  • Taking responsibility for the commercial performance of projects under your control, ensuring delivery within agreed cost and budget parameters
  • Administering a range of contracts including JCT and NEC suites, undertaking contract administration and site supervision
  • Mentoring and coaching fellow team members, contributing to the development and growth of the business nationally

What are we looking for?

This role of Architect is great for you if:

  • You're a qualified Architect (preferably Chartered) with excellent design capabilities and technical detailing skills
  • You have experience of team management and can demonstrate competency in REVIT and BIM - this is essential for the role
  • You have knowledge of current regulations, procurement methods, and experience across all stages of the RIBA Plan of Work
  • You're effective in building and maintaining positive client relationships and can work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
  • You have experience in contract administration, site supervision, and project management, with the ability to work flexibly to support national team needs

Due to the nature of this role, you will also be required to complete a Basic Disclosure and Barring Service Check (applicants with convictions will be treated on a case-by-case basis.
