Assistant Project Manager

We're looking for an Assistant Project Manager to join our Somerset Highways team based in Glastonbury. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in monitoring performance, analysing data and supporting continuous improvement across our operations.

 

Location: Glastonbury, Somerset - travel to the office required with some remote working available
Hours: 3 Months Fixed Term 40 hours per week

What will you be responsible for?

As an Assistant Project Manager, you'll work closely with our Operations Manager and Works Managers, providing the insights and analysis that help us deliver outstanding service to our clients and communities.

Your day to day will include:

  • Collecting, validating and analysing performance data to provide clear visibility of operational outputs and trends
  • Developing and maintaining performance dashboards and reports that track KPIs, response times and cost performance
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement and supporting the implementation of efficiency initiatives
  • Working collaboratively with operational and commercial teams to promote data-driven decision making
  • Actively driving the Performance Maximisation Plan by tracking actions and evidencing efficiency gains

 

What are we looking for?

This Assistant Project Manager role is ideal if you:

  • Have experience in performance monitoring, project coordination or operational analysis — ideally within highways, construction or infrastructure
  • Feel confident working with data and can turn complex information into clear, actionable insights
  • Bring strong organisational skills and advanced Microsoft Excel capability to support reporting and performance tracking
  • Communicate clearly and can present performance information in a way that supports operational managers to make informed decisions
  • Hold a full driving licence and are happy to travel between offices and depots as required
