Buyer
We're looking for a Buyer to join our Hinkley Point C team based in Bridgwater.
Location: Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater
Hours: 45 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.
We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.
This is an exciting opportunity to support all procurement activities including equipment, plant and materials on a nuclear licensed site. You'll be working alongside our commercial team to ensure procurement is carried out in accordance with Kier and client standards, maximising sustainability and best value across multiple work packages on the Hinkley Point C Project.
What will you be responsible for?
As a Buyer, you'll be working within the commercial team, supporting them in the procurement and delivery of several contracts on the Hinkley Point C Project. Your day to day will include:
- Managing the procurement of plant, equipment, and nuclear grade materials, focusing on logistics, quality and cost
- Leading weekly meetings to collate live hire plant reports and maintain running costs across contracts
- Promoting social value through the supply chain and reporting on local SME spend
- Ensuring procurement complies with detailed quality and technical requirements whilst driving best value
- Developing professional relationships with suppliers and service providers to deliver project objectives
What are we looking for?
This role of Buyer is great for you if:
- You have demonstrable experience in a procurement role supporting the delivery of construction on a large nuclear sector related project
- You have an understanding of the NEC suite of contracts including Target Costs
- You have a proactive, enthusiastic, and collaborative approach with excellent communication and negotiation skills
- You're able to work as part of a team to deliver project and company objectives
- You're IT savvy with experience using ERP systems including COINS and Microsoft applications
