We're looking for a Commercial Manager to join our Thames Water Framework based on the Maple Lodge STW project.

Location: Maple Lodge STW – remote working available, with travel to the office/site required at least 3 days a week.
Hours: 45 hours per week – some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

We're seeking a Commercial Manager to oversee the commercial, financial and contractual aspects of the Maple Lodge STW upgrade project – one of our flagship £200m+ wastewater infrastructure schemes. You'll play a central role in project delivery, working alongside a multidisciplinary team to ensure commercial success from pre-construction through to final account. What will you be responsible for?

As a Commercial Manager, you'll be working within the Commercial team, supporting them in delivering commercial excellence across the project. Your day to day will include:

  • Leading all commercial, financial and contractual management for the project, ensuring compliance and driving financial performance
  • Managing and mentoring a team of Quantity Surveyors, supporting their development and fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture
  • Establishing robust cost management processes including forecasting, budget reporting and value engineering initiatives
  • Overseeing supply chain procurement, subcontract management and contract negotiation
  • Maintaining the commercial risk and opportunities register, identifying risks early and developing mitigation actions

What are we looking for?

This role of Commercial Manager is great for you if:

  • You have proven experience as a Commercial Manager on major civil engineering or water infrastructure projects
  • You have a strong understanding of contract management and change control processes
  • You have demonstrable experience managing and mentoring a commercial team
  • You're skilled in cost forecasting, financial reporting, subcontract management and commercial risk management
  • You have excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to collaborate across design, engineering and planning functions
