Commissioning Manager

We're looking for a Commissioning Manager to join our Natural Resources team, working on our wastewater and non-infrastructure projects for Thames Water.


Location: from home and sites across the Thames Valley Region


Hours: Permanent, Full Time – flexible hours are available if preferred, just let us know upon application

 

Responsibilities

We're looking for an experienced Commissioning Manager to join our NRNN water team working on our Thames Water framework. In this role, you will work closely with project teams to plan and deliver all MEICA (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation) and process commissioning activities throughout the project lifecycle. This includes ensuring alignment with the accepted Commissioning Plan and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).

 

In your day to day you'll:

  • Develop and own a comprehensive Commissioning Strategy and Commissioning Plan.
  • Build, manage, and maintain a detailed Commissioning Programme, integrated with the wider construction plan.
  • Oversee and coordinate process commissioning in collaboration with the appointed Process Engineer.
  • Lead and manage the commissioning team, including responsibility for recruitment and performance.
  • Work collaboratively with the senior project team to deliver practical, cost-effective, and safe commissioning solutions throughout the project lifecycle.

What are we looking for?


This Commissioning Manager role is great for you if you have:

  • A proven track record delivering mid-to-large, multi-disciplinary MEICA projects, with significant experience in commissioning planning and execution.
  • Solid background in the UK water sector, with a preference for experience in Wastewater Treatment projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge in, pump and pipe systems, sludge treatment, ozone generation systems, chemical dosing systems and electrical / ICA Design and Commissioning processes
  • Experience engaging with 3D models for commissioning planning, strategy review, and spatial validation (not model creation).
