We're looking for a Communications Manager to join our team based in Rushden or London – Foley Street.

Location: Rushden or London – Foley Street - hybrid  working available, with travel to offices and sites as required.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

As a Communications Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in transforming how we engage, inform and enable our people across the Group. You'll be embedded within our operational teams, using insight to shape your approach and ensuring all colleagues are digitally enabled and confident. This role is critical to improving engagement, understanding and adoption of change, whilst supporting key operational functions including health, safety and wellbeing.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Communications Manager, you'll be working within the Communications team, supporting them in engaging and enabling our people across operations. Your day to day will include:

  • Acting as the dedicated communications business partner to Operations, shaping communications strategically and providing expert advice on change and digital transformation
  • Leading the communications and engagement strategy for Connecting Kier, using data and insight to understand colleague needs and deliver targeted campaigns to improve digital confidence
  • Developing clear, practical, action-focused communications that shift away from email-heavy approaches to visual, mobile-friendly formats
  • Building measurement and insight into all major communications activity, tracking what's landing and adapting your approach to increase effectiveness
  • Supporting effective communications around safety, quality and operational change, ensuring clarity and consistency across all messaging

What are we looking for?

This role of Communications Manager is great for you if:

  • You have experience delivering change and transformation communications, ideally in complex or operational environments
  • You have a strong understanding of frontline, operational or safety-critical audiences and can tailor your approach accordingly
  • You're skilled at using insight and data to shape communications strategy that truly resonates
  • You have experience supporting digital or IT change adoption and helping people feel confident with new tools
  • You're a confident communicator with senior leaders and cross-functional teams, bringing a clear, pragmatic style focused on what works in practice

We're all about finding potential here at Kier, and transferrable skills are always welcome! So, even if you don't tick every box, please apply and we can have a chat.

We're proud to be able to offer our brilliant people a wide variety of benefits that you can tailor to your needs. You can see more information of benefits here.

Diversity and inclusion

Making Kier a diverse and inclusive place to work is a huge priority for us. We're proud of the steps we've taken so far, but we know we must always do more. Our employees are key in shaping Kier's diversity and inclusion initiatives and our people have made a huge impact on how we work, by using their experiences to shape our policies. You can see our D&I action plan here.
