Quantity Surveyor

We're looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join our Severn Trent Framework based in Sheffield.

Location: Sheffield – remote working available, with occasional travel to site required.
Hours: 45 hours per week – some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a vital role in our Commercial team, providing essential support for the successful delivery of our projects across the Midlands. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to meaningful infrastructure projects within the water industry whilst developing your career in a supportive and collaborative environment.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working within the Commercial team, supporting them in delivering cost-effective and high-quality project outcomes.

Your day to day will include:

  • Controlling costs, maximising value, and ensuring quality standards are maintained across projects
  • Procuring subcontractors in line with commercial standards to ensure best value
  • Preparing accurate monthly and quarterly forecasts and cost-to-complete documentation
  • Managing contractor valuations, applications for payment, and final account submissions
  • Collaborating closely with project teams, including engineers, planners, and site managers

What are we looking for?

This role of Quantity Surveyor is great for you if:

  • You hold a degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying with sound commercial knowledge
  • You have experience working on complex civil projects within the water industry
  • You possess excellent organisational, planning, and time management skills
  • You have experience working with the NEC suite of contracts
  • You're comfortable working to demanding deadlines and have strong IT skills
