Communications Officer

We're looking for a Communications Officer to join our Natural Resources, Nuclear and Networks team.

 

Location: Flexible on location - hybrid working available, with travel to sites and offices all over the UK

Hours: 37.5 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us

What will you be responsible for?

As a Communications Officer, you'll be working within the Natural Resources, Nuclear and Networks team, supporting them in taking our written and visual content to the next level .

Your day to day will include:

  • Writing for internal and external channels, including our internal comms platform, the NRNN LinkedIn page, presentations, award entries, case studies and other marketing material.
  • Working with others to gather information for news stories and announcements. This will involve speaking to various subject matter experts to understand the objective of the piece and translating corporate and technical jargon into accessible, well-written articles.
  • Capturing and editing photos. Uploading them to our media library.
  • Shooting and editing video for social media and other channels.
  • Graphic design for presentations, posters and other marketing material.
  • Helping to plan and run events, including workshops, roadshows and conferences.

 

What are we looking for?

This role of Communications Officer is great for you if:

  • Relevant experience in a similar function, such as communications, stakeholder liaison, marketing or business development.
  • Experience of working in the construction, utilities, nuclear, flood/coastal risk management of engineering sector, or similar.
  • Great writing skills, including the ability to produce engaging, well-written content tailored to suit different audiences and communication channels.
  • Basic photography skills, including the ability to use (or learn) photo editing software (like Photoshop or Lightroom).
  • Basic videography skills, including the ability to use (or learn) video editing software (like Premiere
    Pro).
