This role will be working on a Major Project in the Life Sciences sector, working closely with the Project Director to lead the delivery team.

Location: London.
Hours: Full-time - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

Kier Construction Strategic Projects leads the delivery of high-value, technically complex construction projects across the UK. With expertise in healthcare, science and technology, custodial, and MOD sectors, we take pride in delivering value to local communities. As Construction Director, you'll work alongside the Project Director to oversee the end-to-end delivery of a large project from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring key targets are met or exceeded through effective team management.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Construction Director, you'll be working within the Construction Strategic Projects team, supporting them in delivering exceptional outcomes for our clients and communities. Your day to day will include:

  • Leading on the pre-construction phase and construction delivery of projects valued at £100M+, managing planning and operational personnel to maintain programme schedules
  • Providing technical and operational expertise, advising on phasing, programmes, and delivery methodology
  • Overseeing project teams to effectively manage performance against programme and budget under specific contract conditions
  • Driving the implementation of Kier's safety, health, and environmental policies, ensuring compliance across all teams and subcontractors
  • Mentoring and developing senior site teams, sharing knowledge and experience to help others grow

What are we looking for?

This role of Construction Director is great for you if:

  • You have significant experience leading construction projects of £100M+ value from pre-construction to delivery
  • You can demonstrate experience managing project budgets and programmes to achieve targets
  • You hold a relevant construction qualification at degree level or equivalent, plus membership with a professional body (e.g. CIOB/ICE/MRICS)
  • You have expert knowledge of delivery under NEC and JCT contract conditions
  • You hold SMSTS, CSCS Black Card, First Aid Certificate, and a Full driving licence

We're all about finding potential here at Kier, and transferrable skills are always welcome! So, even if you don't tick every box, please apply and we can have a chat.
