Electrical Design Engineer

We're looking for a M & E Electrical Engineer to join our team based in Liverpool/Manchester.

Location: Liverpool/Manchester
Hours: 40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

The purpose of this position is to undertake electrical designs for large, complex construction projects. As an M & E Electrical Engineer, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical design for small to large, complex construction projects, ensuring sustainable, compliant, and cost-effective design delivery from concept through to construction. You'll bridge client needs with engineering reality whilst leading the electrical design team and driving innovation for high-value projects.

What will you be responsible for?

As a M & E Electrical Engineer, you'll be working within the team, supporting them in delivering exceptional electrical design solutions. Your day to day will include:

  • Providing high quality electrical designs and specifications that meet client requirements and brief
  • Offering high level technical advice in electrical building services engineering and supporting project design meetings
  • Collaborating with clients, architects, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination
  • Ensuring all designs comply with relevant building codes, regulations, industry standards and Kier Design standards
  • Promoting and implementing sustainable design solutions whilst identifying and resolving technical and logistical challenges

What are we looking for?

This role of M & E Electrical Engineer is great for you if:

  • You hold a Degree in Electrical Building Services Engineering or Electrical Engineering and are a member of CIBSE or IET
  • You are a Chartered Engineer or working towards becoming chartered
  • You have a high level of knowledge and experience in electrical building services engineering
  • You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to a wider business audience
  • You have experience in the application of quality procedures and document control in engineering design
