Electrical Estimator

We're looking for an Electrical Estimator to join our Kier Mechanical & Electrical team.

Location: Flexible. Travel to London required on occasion.
Hours: Full Time - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

As an Electrical Estimator, you'll play a key role in supporting the generation of profitable tenders while helping to maximise our order pipeline and its conversion into market share and revenue. You'll estimate project costs, identify and manage risks, and work collaboratively across teams to ensure we deliver exceptional results for our clients. This is an opportunity to use your expertise to shape projects from tender through to delivery, building strong relationships along the way.

What will you be responsible for?

As an Electrical Estimator, you'll be working within the Kier Mechanical & Electrical team, supporting them in delivering profitable tenders and successful project outcomes. Your day to day will include:

  • Supporting the preparation of tenders by estimating costs and resources for projects
  • Negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors to minimise costs while maximising value
  • Building and maintaining strong commercial relationships with customers, consultants, and supply chain partners
  • Contributing to the tender process from assessment through to final submission, working closely with design, planning, and commercial teams
  • Participating in project handovers to ensure a smooth transition to delivery teams

What are we looking for?

This role of Electrical Estimator is great for you if:

  • You have demonstrable experience working with a Main Contractor or Sub Contractor
  • You're proficient in Excel and Estimating System Software
  • You have a conscientious approach with strong attention to detail
  • You enjoy building collaborative relationships across teams and with external partners
  • You're motivated by finding solutions that balance quality, efficiency, and profitability

We're all about finding potential here at Kier, and transferrable skills are always welcome! So, even if you don't tick every box, please apply and we can have a chat.

Our employees are key in shaping Kier's diversity and inclusion initiatives and our people have made a huge impact on how we work, by using their experiences to shape our policies. You can see our D&I action plan here.
