Engineer

We're looking for a Site Engineer to join our Construction team based in HMP Glasgow.

Location: HMP Glasgow

Hours: Full Time - Monday to Friday – some flexibility on hours can be considered available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

The Site Engineer plays a key supporting role within Kier Construction, contributing to the safe, efficient and high-quality delivery of construction projects on site. Working closely with the engineering and site management teams on a £750M new build custodial facility, you'll support the setting out, quality assurance and technical coordination of works, ensuring that construction activities are delivered in line with design, programme and compliance requirements.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Site Engineer, you'll be working within the engineering team, supporting them in delivering this major custodial facility project. Your day to day will include:

• Setting out and surveying works in accordance with design drawings and specifications, ensuring accuracy of levels and dimensions
• Supporting quality assurance by implementing inspection regimes, completing Inspection & Test Plans and ensuring works meet required standards
• Working alongside engineers, subcontractors and design teams to resolve technical queries and identify any inconsistencies
• Maintaining accurate site records, as-built information and supporting handover documentation
• Upholding health, safety and environmental standards on site, ensuring works are carried out in line with method statements and risk assessments

What are we looking for?

This role of Site Engineer is great for you if:

• You hold a degree or HNC/HND in a relevant discipline such as Civil Engineering or Construction Management
• You have practical experience in a construction or site-based role with knowledge of setting out techniques
• You're competent in interpreting technical drawings and specifications and understand construction methods
• You have awareness of health and safety legislation and site compliance requirements, with a valid CSCS card
• You hold a full driving licence
