We're looking for an Engineer to join our Kier Design team based in Norwich (Wymondham) or Liverpool (Speke). Kier Design are a highly regarded Tier 1 Contractor, with a 750 plus strong design consultancy team, recognised as a Top 30 employer on Glassdoor.

Location: Norwich (Wymondham) or Liverpool (Speke)
Hours: 40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

Are you...

  • Qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (BSc, BEng, MSc or MEng)
  • Experienced within a civil engineering consultancy delivering drainage and infrastructure designs for residential, commercial and educational developments
  • Proficient in Autodesk InfoDrainage, MicroDrainage, Civil 3D and AutoCAD
  • Knowledgeable about surface water drainage, foul water drainage, SuDS design and the CIRIA C753 SuDS Manual
  • Holder of a Full driving licence

What will you be responsible for?

As an Engineer, you'll be working within the Building Civils team, supporting them in delivering high-quality and sustainable civil engineering solutions across a diverse portfolio of developments. This is an exciting opportunity to work on the design and coordination of drainage, highways and external works infrastructure from concept through to construction. You'll collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, clients and statutory bodies to deliver technically robust and practical engineering solutions. Your role will focus on producing calculations, drawings, models and technical reports, with particular emphasis on below-ground drainage and SuDS design, while contributing to the successful delivery of projects and the continued development of our Building Civils team.

Your day to day will include:

  • Undertaking the design of surface water, foul water and sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) using industry-standard software
  • Preparing drainage strategies and technical documentation to support planning applications, technical approvals and statutory submissions
  • Producing and checking civil engineering calculations, drawings, design models, reports, specifications and schedules
  • Coordinating civil engineering designs with other technical disciplines and the wider design team
  • Liaising with clients, contractors, local authorities and statutory undertakers to support successful project delivery
