Estimator

We're looking for a MEICA Estimator to join our Southern Water Framework team based remotely with travel to offices within the Southern Water region as necessary.

Location: Southern Water Framework - Remote working available, with travel to the office as necessary to fulfil the role and team requirements. Offices will be within the Southern Water region, typically around Brighton and Chichester
Hours: 40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

We're looking for an experienced Mechanical & Electrical Estimator to join our Southern Water Framework team. Working closely with other members of our framework delivery team and the Client, you'll deliver value for money solutions for the mechanical and electrical elements of work in line with framework requirements. What will you be responsible for?

As a MEICA Estimator, you'll be working within the Southern Water Framework team, supporting them in developing solutions and prices for projects on the Capital Delivery Framework. Your day to day will include:

  • Preparing multi-discipline tender pricing and producing differing levels of pricing, from top-down budgets to bottom-up lump sums or targets
  • Reading and understanding client specifications and drawings, whilst providing input into the design management process
  • Identifying risks and opportunities, considering site safety, health, quality and environmental issues
  • Co-ordinating and liaising with suppliers, specialist sub-contractors and in-house resources, including technical assessment of supply chain quotations
  • Compiling and collating final submission documentation and ensuring all tenders take account of Kier and Client commercial requirements

What are we looking for?

This role of MEICA Estimator is great for you if:

  • You have a proven track record of successfully delivering tenders and pricing of varying size and complexity in the water industry
  • You possess excellent organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage a portfolio of projects in a framework environment
  • You have strong experience of the Pre-Construction / ECI phase of projects to quickly identify risks and opportunities
  • You have good knowledge and experience of the processes and mechanical and electrical assets used within the Water Industry
  • You're competent in using various IT packages including estimating software and can work within integrated multi-sector teams
